For starters, I thought the queen looked fierce in her canary yellow ensemble, and compared to the other guests her hat was relatively demure.
I was pleased with Kate's dress, it was appropriate for a church wedding but but beautiful. It may not have been a bold statement, but it was timelessly elegant. Read the New York Times review of the dress
here. The gown was designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen (view her
Spring 2011 Runway Show). Burton is also rumored to be in the running to replace John Galliano at Dior.

Kate's sister Pippa also looked lovely in Alexander McQueen, the children looked adorable of course! |
And finally, and most importantly, the
hats! Milliner Phillip Treacy was the
standout of the day.

Princesses Eugenie & Beatrice (Fergie's daughters). I hate the beige one. They can't all be winners. Turns out Beatrice has a history of horrendous hats. |

UPDATE: For the next round of parties, Middleton changed into another lovely Burton creation. I love the shrug! "Is Camilla wearing a house dress?"- My Mom.
UPDATE II: Nordstrom already has a reproduction gown for preorder. It's availible in sizes 0-24W!
FINAL UPDATE: Princess Beatrice's hat was auctioned off and raised 130,000 for
UNICEF. It's still ugly, but ugly for a great cause.
