What I Wore: Winter Morning

This morning my family and I volunteered for a local charities gift basket distribution...one of our Christmas traditions. My Mom and I helped give out children's books while the families waited for their packages, and my Dad was Santa. It was in the 30s outside when we left the house, so I dressed for warmth and holiday cheer.

With Daddy as Santa!

Striped Slouch Beanie, American Apparel,  Old Navy Plus-Size Trench, Moto Boots ,

I love American Apparel's unisex thermals, they come in a rainbow of colors and are great for casual winter wear. My boots are American Eagle, you can get this double buckle motorcycle style at any price point.

Merry Christmas from Maeby Fünke

This is my first post focused on Maeby's style. I have yet to do one because her tastes are so varying and trend driving, she is harder is harder to deconstruct than the other more consistent characters. That being said, I love her holiday looks. Here they are, along with some pieces inspired by them.

Holiday Look 1: "Afternoon Delight"

I couldn't find a floral sweater similar to Maeby's, but here are a coupled of pieces that would mimic the  bold print and scarf holiday for a family holiday party:

Sweater: Juicy Couture, Scarf: Piperlime, Overalls: Vintage Lee @ Free People

Maeby wears a lot of overalls, I did too in the early 2000s.

Vintage Floral Prints for Work

This dress I just got in two prints isn't really winter-ready, but I'm excited about it anyway. They are going to be so great for teaching when it warms-up next semester. The necklines are interesting yet very conservative, which is refreshing. I ordered both with the intention of returning one but I just couldn't.

What I Wore: Holiday Party

ASOS' Curve line has so many cute and reasonably priced holiday dresses this season. Here's the one I ended up picking:

ASOS Curve

Unfortunately, I was too busy enjoying the party to get proper outfit photos. I wore it with a flower headband I just picked up at Old Navy. The headband isn't on the website, but I'm sure you could find it at your local store or something similar but unique at Etsy.

For shoes, I went with with red velvet Gap City flats from last season. The maroon version of Old Navy's velvet ballet flat would work, or a metallic gold shoe.
